Newest film by my dear friend Laura Jane Favela.
Friends: It is with much happiness that I present to you my super weird animated short film. Final sound mix pending. :)
Original lyrics for “Story From North America”, written by me (Garrett Davis) in Nathrop, CO, in 2006. Found this little gem of an artifact yesterday as I was going through some old drawings in my parents basement. I was surprised at how few corrections and changes there are, I must have composed the lines in my head pretty solidly before writing anything down. In the animation when it cuts to the narrator at 2:25, this is the page that you hear being turned - when I recorded it I didn’t have the lyrics memorized yet so I needed to read them off.

Just finished this music video for The Pop Ups. They are two guys from Brooklyn who do children’s music. If you have kids you should get a copy of their newest album which will be released next week.
This video has been floating around for a little while now, but if you’ve never heard Dustin Wong’s incredibly rich layered guitar compositions, you are really missing out on one of the most amazing souls making music at this moment. Not only are his sounds wonderfully evocative and extremely inspiring, Dustin is one of the friendliest, gentlest, most positive people I’ve ever met. I can’t recommend his new album highly enough, and if he is ever playing in your city you should definitely go see him. Thanks Dustin.
